Jane Harris Greene, 64, passed during the early morning hours of Monday (October 28, 2019 following an extended illness. Jane was born on October 27, 1955 in Kingsport, TN to the late Delmer & Gladys (Gilliam) Harris.
Jane truly had the heart of a servant; her favorite holiday was Christmas, she enjoyed giving to others. She taught special education for 22 years in the Kingsport School System. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her “furry-friend” Gypsy.
Jane is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, David Greene; two sons, Matt Greene & wife Anna and Jacob Greene & wife Chelsey; daughter, Jessica Walsh & husband Dakotah; grandchildren, Kendall, Matthew, Kamaya, Blake and Logan Greene, Katelyn and Ethan Quillen, Madison Holder, and Jackson Matthews; brother, Tim Harris & wife Glenda; sisters-in-law, Kathy Greene and Karen Gillenwater & husband Jerry; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Friday (November 1, 2019) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
Jane will be laid to rest on Saturday (November 2, 2019) at 11 a.m. in the Christus Garden at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Greene, Chad Runyon, Chris Runyon, Jr., Dillon Runyon, and Seth Runyon. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Harris, Aaron Harris, Chris Runyon, and Adam Runyon.
