James “Jim” Harold Hobbs, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2020. He was born September 10, 1932 in Lee County, VA to the late Cornie and Robert Hobbs. Jim was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and retired from American Flat Glass in Church Hill, TN. Jim attended Beulah Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Bernett Hobbs and his parents, Robert Hobbs and Cornie Wolliver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Kerry Hobbs and wife Joan; daughters, Connie Huddleston and husband Robert and Donna Golden and husband John; brother, Jerry Hobbs and wife Gloria; sister, Anna Lewis; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim will be laid to rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at 11:00am at East Tennessee Cemetery, Blountville, TN with Pastor Al South officiating. The graveside service is for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Jim’s name may be given to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
