Jackie “Jack” Harold McClellan, 71, passed away during the evening hours of Monday (March 19, 2018) at Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. Jack was born on December 22, 1946 in Kingsport, TN to the late Charles Vernon & Ova Edith (Williams) McClellan.
Jack retired from Robinson Freight Line as a truck driver in 1977. He enjoyed working on and trading antique cars. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Hamilton; brother-in-law, Robert Hamilton; brothers, Charles Vernon McClellan, Jr. and Ronald McClellan; and sister-in-law, Loretta McClellan.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 44 years, Juanita Christene Crawford McClellan; daughter, Tammy & husband Tim Gillespie; sons, Harold & wife Lora Sutherland, Bud & wife Jerrie McClellan, and Johnny McClellan; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday (March 22, 2018) from 5 to 7 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Edens, Mike Crawford, and Danny Crawford officiating.
Jack will be laid to rest on Friday (March 23, 2018) at 11 a.m. in Christus Garden at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Crawford, Harold Sutherland, Joe Christian, John Hale, Austin Nicholas, and Johnny McClellan.
