Irene Shields

Irene Reed Shields age 76, of Piney Flats passed away Friday March 4, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Shields was born October 27, 1934 in Morrison City Tn.

She is a daughter of the late Rathie and Hazel Reed, and had resided in Sullivan county most of her life. She was a retired employee of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center and Appalachian OB GYN. She attended Holly Springs United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter Deborah Davis Oklahoma City, OK.

One Son David M. Shields Piney Flats, TN. Five Grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren, Three Sisters Francis Henard Kingsport, TN. , Julia Peters Kingsport, TN., Kathleen Ramey Kingsport TN. and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM. Sunday March 6, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 7, 2011 in East Lawn Memorial Park with Minister Clarence Huffman Officiating.
