Howard “Cracker” Robert Marshall, 88, passed away during the evening hours of Tuesday (September 25, 2018) at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Howard was born on July 25, 1930 in Witchita, KS to the late Howard Robert & Ada Mitchell.
“Cracker” unselfishly served our country in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Northeast Church of Christ. He will be remembered for never being sad or mad, and always having a joke to make everyone laugh; he was always very grateful for everything anyone did for him. “Cracker” loved to fish and spend time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, “Cracker” was preceded in death by two sons, John and Tom Marshall; and several brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish his memories are his two sons, Steve Marshall & wife Norma and Mick Marshall & wife Sandy; daughter, Wanda Dunn & husband Tim; step-son, Sam Fox & wife Tonya; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday (October 1, 2018) from 5 to 7 pm at Bloomingdale Ruritan (3232 Van Horn Street, Kingsport, TN 37660).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Eva & David Jessie and family for all the kind and loving care that was both given and shown to “Cracker” during his time of need.
