Gladys Irene Lawson, 75, of Kingsport, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at The Wexford House. Born on September 3, 1939 in Hawkins County, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Etta Mae Lloyd Wilmoth. Mrs. Lawson lived in the Kingsport area all of her life and was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. She was a seamstress for years and loved working in her yard and gardens. She loved, cherished and adored her cats in which she cared for them like they were a part of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Tilmon Lawson; and her brother, Roy Wilmoth. She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Livesay and her husband, Dennis, and Kathy Robinette and her husband, Perry, all of Kingsport; son, Kenny Lawson and his wife, Chris of Campobello, SC; four grandchildren, Todd Livesay, Laura Williams and her husband, Bob, Rachel Lawson, and Cody Robinette; one great-grandchild, Jackson Reynolds; three brothers, Bob Wilmoth and his wife, Barbara; Wayne Wilmoth and his wife, Rita; and Gary Wilmoth and his wife, Terri; one sister-in-law, Sue Corley; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend and sister in Christ, Jesse Mae Richardson. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, October 21, 2014 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Graves officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in the Garden of Everlasting Life II at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers honoring Mrs. Lawson are Gary Wilmoth, Wayne Wilmoth, Jerry Wilmoth, Danny Livesay, Craig Rogers, Kenny Swinney and Jim Newton. Honorary Pallbearers are Cody Robinette, Bob Williams and Rachel Lawson.
