Gene L. Brooks, age 75 of Kingsport, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Brookhaven Manor. Mr. Brooks was the son of the late George and Viola Brooks. He retired from AFG after 36 years of service. Mr. Brooks attended Parkers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by a brother, Don Brooks.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Nancy Brooks; daughters: Sarah Stidham and Sabrina Kostin; a sister, Charlotte Dezarn, and a brother, Robert Brooks, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Gene L. Brooks will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 3:00 pm in the East Lawn Funeral Home chapel with Gary Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
