Garry lead a full life, enjoying cycling in all forms. In his youth, he excelled at baseball, playing for Dobyns-Bennett High School, where he graduated in 1968. After graduation, Garry took up cycling and became an accomplished rider. He enjoyed going on long rides, none longer than the time he rode his ten-speed style bicycle from his home in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the Tri-Cities to visit his parents, a trip of over 200 miles. He also enjoyed bowling with his family, participating in leagues in Chattanooga and the Tri-Cities.
As he aged, his interest turned to motorcycles. He still enjoyed pedaling but spent most of his free time on motorcycles. He loved riding and enjoyed his time on the road, exploring and re-discovering the TriCities after he moved back from Chattanooga. Only the worst weather would keep him from enjoying a ride in the country.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at East Lawn Funeral Home.
