Frank Lyle Shipley, 95, passed away during the early morning hours of Monday (April 23, 2018) at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Lyle was born on June 28, 1922 to the late Elmer Carl & Mae (Click) Shipley in Greeneville, TN.
Lyle unselfishly served his country in the Marines during WWII. He retired as an operator from Eastman Chemical in 1985. Lyle grew up on a farm, was strong-willed, and always said what he meant. He will be remembered by his family as always giving the best hugs. Lyle was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Lyle was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Shipley; and sister, Helen Shipley.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 60 years, Evelyn June (Fairfield) Shipley; daughter, Katrina Loo & husband Francisco; brother, Hugh Shipley; granddaughter, Alexandra Loo; grandson, David Loo; extended families, Shipley, Anjonrin-Ohu and the Loo families; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday (April 26, 2018) from 5 to 6:30 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:30 pm with Pastor Robert Burlingham officiating. A private family graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery.
