Everett Banner Edwards

Everett Banner Edwards, age 95, entered into rest January 25, 2011. He was born October 20, 1915 in Sandy Ridge, Virginia to Everett and Lucy Edwards and had resided in the Tri Cities area since 1955. Everett was retired with twenty five years of service from the Mason Dixon Trucking Company. He had been a member of the Teamers Retirees Union Local 549. Everett was preceded in death by four sons, Banner Allen Edwards, James L. Edwards, Robert W. Edwards, Billy J. Edwards, three grandsons, James Edwards, Jr., Mark A. Edwards, Jimmy Pruett II, Timmy Edwards, and one granddaughter, Melissa Pruett. Survivors include three daughters, Doris Hobbs and husband Lynn of Blountville, Tn., Phyllis Dean and husband Elgin of Charlotte, N.C., Lorene Pruett of Kingsport, one son, John Edwards and wife Debbie of Bristol, Va. grandchildren, Angela Canter and finance’ Eric Hale, Michael Wayne Edwards, Yvonne Edwards, Allen Hobbs and wife Bertie, Daniel Hobbs, Jonathan Hobbs and wife Jennifer, Billy Joe Edwards, Jr. and wife Rhonda, Denene Crocker and husband Kenneth, Stephanie Edwards, John Edwards and wife Stacey, Wade Dean, David Dean and wife Cheryl, Linda Jones and husband Charles, Susan Hartley and husband Rick, Heather Mann and husband Keith, great grandchildren, Isaiah Canter, Josiah Canter, Justice Hale, Tyler Edwards, Tanner Edwards, Cassandra Johnson, Veronica Johnson, Jessica Dalton, Logan Hobbs, Gabriel Hobbs, Kasey Hobbs, Katelyn Hobbs, Raine Hobbs, Storme Hobbs, Cassie Edwards, Amber Killebrew, Ashleigh Killebrew, Jordan Killebrew, Mable Jones, Maura Jones, Gillian Dean, Garret Dean, Derick Crocker, Christine Crocker, Bryon Edwards, Zachery Mann, Coty Edwards, Will Edwards, Josh Fish, Rajja Edwards, Christina Edwards, and Arianna Edwards, Ashlyn Ketron, Jaci Ketron,step great grandchildren, Brittany Hartley, Brooke Hartley, step great-great grandchildren Conner Buchanan and Bryleigh Jones, and his beloved canine companion, Boomer B. The family will receive friends and family from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home, with burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
