Eric Gustav Henrikson

Eric Gustav Henrikson was born on Aug. 2, 1945. He was the seventh and youngest child of Dagmar Sophie Larson and Paul Henrikson.

Eric Gustav Henrikson spent his formative years in Westmont, IL. In the mid 1960s, Mr. Henrikson served in the Army, where he achieved the rank of PFC E-3 and earned awards for marksmanship with the M-14 rifle, and sharpshooter with an M-6 rifle.

After being honorably discharged from the Army, Eric Gustav Henrikson married the great love of his life, Donna Marie Misik, on Jan. 18, 1969. The new couple went on to have two sons: Eric Jr. (born in 1969) and Derek Paul (born in 1972).

In the 1970s, Eric Gustav Henrikson worked during the day to support his family and went to college at night to get an education. He earned an associate degree in Applied Science from DuPage College in 1974 and a bachelor degree in Applied Science from Elmhurst College in 1979.

In 1980 Eric Gustav Henrikson took a job with Boeing plane manufacturing company and gave his family a fresh start at a Boeing site in Anchorage, AK. Later Boeing transferred him to Washington, and Mr. Henrikson resettled his family in Issaquah where they rented a house from 1981-1982. Eric Gustav Henrikson worked for Boeing as a COBOL programmer until he retired in 2004.

In 1983 Eric Gustav Henrikson moved his family to a rural, five-acre plot on the hillside just north of Orting, where he built a beautiful, three-story house. He lived there until July 2021 when he relocated his family to Kingsport, TN.

Eric Gustav Henrikson is survived by his loving wife Donna; his two sons, Eric Jr. and Derek (and daughter-in-law Brenda); and his two grandsons, Brycen Ray (13) and Riley Anthony (9).

Eric's funeral service will be held Saturday October 9th, 2021 at 2 PM at East Lawn Chapel, with visitation one hour prior, and graveside service to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park 4997 Memorial Blvd. Kingsport, TN 37664.
