Edward Lynn Hartman, age 74 of Kingsport, Tennessee, formerly of the Solway Community of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Hartman was a member of Solway United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Lynn retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation in 1990 after 34 years of service. He also worked a number of years for Tysinger Hampton and Partners after retiring from T.D.O.T. Mr. Hartman was preceded in death by his parents: Rex and Sallie (Koon) Hartman; brothers: Jack and Ronald; sister, Lois Selvidge; father-in-law Harold Rose and mother-in-law Agnes Rose.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon Lee Hartman; sons: Robert (Lawney) Hartman and Keith (Lisa) Hartman; grandchildren: Maggie Tipton (Adam), Michael (Amber) Vannoy, Mari Beth and MaLaura Vannoy; great granddaughter Aubrey Tipton; brother, Boyd (Ann) Hartman; sisters: Bettye Caruthers, Mary Jane Riley, Sharon (Ted) Mitchell, Becky (Bill) Dahl and Julia Hartman; sisters-in-law: Sandra Hartman, Pat Blake, and Judy Hartman; brothers-in-law: Harold “Buddy” Rose and Bill Selvidge along with numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousin; and special caregiver and friend, Barbara Puckett.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home, and on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home, Knoxville, Tennessee with a Celebration of Life service following at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Oak Ridge. Everyone is asked to assemble in the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. for the service.
