Dr. John James Joseph Tasker, age 73 of Kingsport, was welcomed into the Heavenly realm by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, December 8, 2015. John was born to the late James Tasker and the late Lillian Egsgard Tasker on September 28, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario. John graduated from the University of Western Ontario and played semi-pro football and hockey. John practiced as an Obstetrician and Gynecological physician; serving as a physician in London, Ontario, Pulaski, VA, Indian Path Medical Center, Holston Valley Medical Center, Sycamore Shoals Hospital, and he also taught at the Medical School at ETSU in Johnson City. Over his 40 plus years as a physician he delivered over 17, 500 babies. On October 28, 2000 John married Alice Meade, and after 15 years of a happy marriage, she survives. John will be remembered for his loving affection for his family and friends, and for his adventurous spirit for the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and he was always ready to go camping, or cast his fishing pole into a local pond, at a moment’s notice. He found solace in bird watching and being outdoors. He was a man who truly appreciated God’s handiwork in nature. John is survived by his loving wife, Alice Meade Tasker; two sons, Barron Tasker, Brent Tasker; one daughter, Dianne Tasker Marques and husband Angelo; one step-son Derek Upchurch and wife Wendy; one brother, Peter Tasker; one sister, Joanne Palazzo, three granddaughters; special friends, Carlos Diaz, and Greg and Mary Holt; one god-son, Daniel Holt; one god-daughter, Katie Holt; and several other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Dianne Tasker. A memorial service will be held in honor of John on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Christ Fellowship Church in Kingsport with Pastor Greg DePriest officiating.The family request that memorial contributions be made to Christ Fellowship Church’s general fund.
