Donna Atkins

Donna Morse Atkins, 67, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born to Ernest and Ilene (Christian) Morse. Although Donna will be greatly missed, we rejoice knowing we will see her again!

Donna was a loving wife, step-mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved being able to put a smile on others faces and being able to be a light to others. While being a loving family woman, Donna was also a hard and dedicated worker, retiring after 25 years from the U.S. Government Social Security Office. She loved to worship the Lord and was of the Baptist faith.

Along with her father, Donna was preceded in death by: grandfather, Morgan Christian; grandmother, Verna Christian; four special uncles, Gene, Bobby, Bill, and Kyle Christian.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her mother, Ilene C. Morse; loving husband of 47 years, Charles Atkins, Jr. (Chuck); three step-children, Brenda Stone (Jim), Charles Atkins III (Julie), and Doug Atkins (Pam); along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Donna loved her family and friends but was especially fond of the friendships she shared with the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.

The Atkins family will honor Donna with a Graveside Service on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 2 pm in East Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's honor to the Sullivan County Animal Shelter.
