David Wayne Cowden, 51, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 13 2015. He was a loving and caring man, willing to help others. Mr. Cowden attended Glen Alpine United Methodist Church until his health declined. He retired from Eastman in February of 2015 after 24 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Smith Cowden; paternal grandparents, George and Gladys Cowden; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Rebecca Smith; uncle, Lynn Cowden. He is survived by his wife of 28 wonderful years, Lori Wilson Cowden; son, Daniel Cowden and his fiancé, Denise Pilz; father and step-mother, Wayne and Peggy Cowden; brothers, Bob (Carol) Cowden and Alan (Teresa) Cowden; nieces, Emiley Wilson and Caitlin (Zach) Hall; nephews, Shayne (Paige) Cowden, Austin Cowden, Nathan Cowden, Jeremy Cowden and Seth (Elisa) Wilson; aunts, France Adams and Teresa Cowden; and uncles Jerry Smith and Mikel (Carol) Smith. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday evening, September 18, 2015 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ken LaDuke officiating and music provided by Jennifer Trent. A graveside service with entombment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Mausoleum III of East Lawn Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Shayne Cowden, Austin Cowden, Nathan Cowden, Jeremy Cowden, Bill Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Steve Adams and Mark Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Wilson and Larry Watts.
