Curtis Floyd Hobbs, age 87, of Kingsport, entered into rest on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Church Hill Health Care Center. Mr. Hobbs was a Sullivan County native and the son of the late James Ballard and Rosa Armina Hobbs. He retired from Eastman after more than 30 years of service. Mr. Hobbs loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed U.T. football. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Kingsport.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Hobbs in 2011; a daughter, Renee Hobbs; several brothers and sisters and his good friend, Robert Cannoy.
Survivors include his daughters: Armina Kegley and husband Jeff of Nickelsville, VA. and Tammie Joyner and husband Joel of Church Hill, TN ; grandchildren: Kelsi Eastis and fiancé, Matt Fleenor, Jaren Kegley, Ethan Kegley and Jake Joyner; special niece, Glenna Flannary along with several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September, 19, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Senior Chaplin Roy Owens, officiating. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in East Lawn Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to assemble in the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. for the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Kegley, Joel Joyner and Matt Fleenor.
