Curtis E. Herron, age 85, entered into rest at his residence, March 24, 2012. Born in Scott County, Virginia, to the late Thomas Lewis Herron and Helen Myrtle Williams Herron, Curtis had lived in Kingsport for 54 years. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Edna Bledsoe; two brothers, Deward and Keith Herron. He retired after 20 plus years of service with Mason-Dixon Trucking and was a member of the Teamster 549. Survivors include his wife of sixty four years marriage, Ellen Herron; one son, Stanley Curtis Herron; one daughter, Linda Herron Phillips and husband, William E. all of Kingsport; one brother, Thomas Lewis “T.L. Herron of Gate City, VA.; two sisters, Maureen Brooks of Piney Flats, Faye Slaughter of Colonial Heights; two grandchildren, James Stephen Langrel , Roger Lee Langrel, four great- grandchildren Lesley Mae Langrel, Marra Faye Langrel; Sharon Ashley Freeman and husband James, James Aaron Langrel; two great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey Grace Freeman and Jacob Allen Freeman. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, with burial of follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
