Charles Douglas Nash, 93, passed peacefully Saturday, April 25, at Steadman Hill Assisted Living after a long battle with cancer. He was born in 1926 in Amite County, MS, of Fred and Verne Nash. He served in the US Navy. He had resided for many years in Memphis, TN, as well as Gloster, MS. Charles not only was a wonderful father but also actively practiced his Christian faith. He authored two books about Israel and a third titled Life with Sophie.
He is predeceased by an older sister Freddie Nelson, as well as his first wife, Sophie Capsuto Nash, who died in 2009, as well as his second wife Evelyn Sansing Nash, who died in 2019.
He is survived by his daughter Leslie Williams Davis, and son in law Craig Marshall Davis, as well as grandchildren Jennifer Lauren Morris and Scott Timothy Williams, and great granddaughter Hannah Sophia Green, as well as his sister Libby Walsten. His dear friends Larry and Doris Gaw will also miss him greatly. A note of gratitude to the angels on staff at Steadman Hill as well as his hospice nurse, Kelli.
Limited graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 28, at East Lawn Funeral Home, but a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
