Bobby Hobert Carr, 89, passed during the late evening hours of Friday (June 28, 2019) following a brief illness. Hobert was born on September 26, 1929 in Bluff City, TN to the late Emory & Altha Lee (Shelly) Carr.
Hobert was a dedicated member of Oakwood Forest Christ Church for over 20 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, bird watching, and spending time with family and friends. Hobert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Hobert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Peggy Carr; and brother, Evans Carr.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jeff Carr & wife Wren; two daughters, Cindy Leonard & husband Kenneth and Judy Ann Carr DeHart & husband Tim; sister, Mary Harmon; sister-in-law, Jean Carr; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Hobert will be laid to rest on Tuesday (July 2, 2019) at 3 p.m. in the Garden of Gethsemane at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Corey Leonard, Darrell Carr, Bobby DeHart, and Scott Julian.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Oakwood Forest Christ Church (1713 E Sevier Ave Kingsport, TN 37664).
