Bobbie Jo Perkey Newman

Bobbie Jo Perkey Newman, age 67 of Blountville, entered into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father during the late morning hours on Monday, March 27, 2017. Bobbie was born on March 4, 1950 in Richlands, VA to the late Robert and Georgia Perkey.

Bobbie enjoyed her life to the fullest. She loved traveling, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church and the former owner of Bobbie Newman Transport.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Georgia Perkey; siblings, Mary Newman and Robert “Nook” Perkey. She is survived by siblings, Shelma and Jim Blalock of Jefferson City, Sue Shackleford of Unicoi Co., Shirley and Donnie Reed of Blountville, Penny Millard of Bristol, VA, David and Loretta Perkey of Bristol, Ronnie Perkey and Derick Prose of Knoxville, Don Perkey of the home, and James Perkey and special friend Jennifer; special friends, David Paridise, Sue Ledford, and Don Cross; and several loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home, Kingsport, Tennessee. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11:00 am, in the Garden of Memories at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, Tennessee, with Rev. Jeff Ferguson officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobbie’s brothers and other family members.
