Bill Mast, age 66 of Blountville, entered into the glories of Heaven on April 23, 2018 while surrounded by his family. Bill was born on August 5, 1951 in Midwest City, OK to Ralph William Mast, Sr. and Ruth Schaeffer Mast. Bill graduated from Willingboro High School in Willingboro, NJ in 1969. He then attended Springfield college and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. He was employed as an Elementary Physical Education teacher for 10 years in New Jersey and Maine. In 1986, Bill received his Physical Therapist Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New England. On February 18, 1978 Bill married the love of his life, Robin Rogal, and after 40 years of a beautiful life together, she survives.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed antique picking and spending time outdoors; from spelunking to gardening, to fishing to collecting rocks and shells. For over 25 years, Bill owned and operated Colonial Heights Physical Therapy and he volunteered his time as a trainer at Sullivan Central High School. He enjoyed sports and he was honored to work with many athletes at Sullivan Central High School.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Robin Mast; daughters, Alison Fields and husband Stacy, and Megan Turner and husband Brad; six grandchildren, Jackson, Nick, Bryce, Eli, Ella, and Katie; special friend, Leeroy Hanie; and his lifelong friend, Bob Graver of NJ.
The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff of Kingsport Hematology and Oncology and to the ICU nursing staff at Holston Valley Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Kip Cloninger Scholarship Fund at Sullivan Central High School: located at 131 Shipley Ferry Rd., Blountville, TN 37617.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Salem United Methodist Church, located at 230 Boozy Creek Rd, Blountville, TN 37617. A celebration of Bill’s life will follow at 6:00 pm, immediately following the visitation with Pastor Lewis Kizer officiating. Interment services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jackson Harrison, Nick Harrison, Bryce Harrison, Stacy Fields, Brad Turner, and Eli Turner.
