Bill Cox

Bill Cox, age 82, died January 5, 2013 at his resident after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John S.O. Cox and Goldie Jewel Lady Cox; his son, Dr. Robert John Cox. He was retired from Kingsport Press, and an active member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Bill was also a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Sinking Creek Lodge, the KCCH Scottish Rites and a Shriner. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mildred Cox; two daughters, Linda Moore and husband, Mark of Kingsport, Sandy Cox Peele and husband, Dr. Terry E. Peele of Burlington, N.C.; four grandchildren, Tyler Moore of Kingsport, Beth Peele Crotty of Atlanta, T.J. Peele of Winston-Salem, N.C. , Lauren Peele of San Francisco, CA; three great-grandchildren, Burns Crotty, Smith Crotty and Cameron Peele. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights Baptist Church Mission Fund or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
