Betty Pauline Crawford

Betty Pauline Crawford age 86, of Kingsport passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Ms. Crawford was born in Rye Cove, Virginia. She was the wife of former University of Minnesota and Sullivan Central football coach, Denver Crawford “DJ.”

She was an avid bowler, golfer, and a dedicated wife. Her life was football and volunteer work. She was a strong supporter of the University of Tennessee, the University of Minnesota and a mother figure to every player at Sullivan Central in Kingsport, TN. She never met a stranger.

She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Crawford and Daniel Crawford, her grandson, James Crawford and wife Tracy, her great grandsons, Noah and Caleb Crawford, her nephews Rick, Lowell and Harry Crawford.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Earnest Steffey officiating. Graveside services will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
