Beryl William “Bill” Bernard, Jr. age 72 of Kingsport, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Asbury Place. He was born on August 7, 1945 in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Beryl William Bernard, Sr. and the late Clara Elizabeth Jennings Bernard. He was also preceded in death by his infant granddaughter Crystal Dingus.

On May 7, 1966 Bill married the love of his life JoAnn Massengill Bernard. Bill was a master negotiator and enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets. He spent much of his time in the outdoors, whether it was camping or maintaining his lawn. Bill was active in the Optimist Club as well as a troop leader for Boy Scouts. He loved to fish. Bill retired from Eastman Chemical Company after over 35 years of service.
Bill leaves behind to mourn his passing his loving wife of 51 years JoAnn Bernard; son: Michael Bernard and wife Erica of Kingsport; daughters: Michelle Dingus and husband Sam of Kingsport; Kim Bernard and partner Scott Buchanan of Kingsport; sister: Jane Baxter and husband Robert of Niceville, Florida; grandchildren: Darien Dingus and wife Danielle, Sean Dingus, Christian Dingus, Amelia Bernard, Jackson Bernard, and William Bernard; great-grandchildren: Damien Dingus and Madeline Dingus.
A funeral service to commemorate the life of Bill Bernard will be conducted from the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 22, 2017 with Pastor Gale Flanary officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Garden of Everlasting Life I at East Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral hours at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
