She was born on May 4, 1929 in Traverse City to George and Clara (Wurm) Clous.
Marjorie married the late Robert Ockert on October 22, 1960 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City. Together they raised a daughter, Rose.
Marjorie worked at Bayshore Meats in Traverse City for 21 years and as a cook at St. Mary’s Hannah School.
Marjorie was a member of St. Mary’s Hannah Men and Women’s Club, the Church choir and the Diocesan Catholic Council of Women. She also volunteered for Michigan Blood and 4-H when her daughter and granddaughters were involved.
Family was very important to Marjorie and there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with them. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, gardening, baking, and playing cards.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Rose (Dewayne) Belles Jr. of Kingsley; granddaughters, Kimberlee (Nick) Forsman of Rockford and Kristina (Bryan) Keyser of Interlochen; great-grandchildren, Lily Rose and Jayden Robert Keyser; brother, Fred Clous of Fife Lake; brothers-in-law; Jay (Mary) Ockert, Ralph (Zita) Ockert, Gerald (Kathy) Ockert, Fritz Ockert; and sister-in-law, Margaret Lewis.
Besides her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2013; and four siblings, Mary Kazon, Russell Clous, Ann Bellows, James Clous.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, at the Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley from 5 to 8 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, April 16, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Hannah Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will immediately follow the service at St. Mary’s Hannah Catholic Cemetery.
