Mabel Etta Kreiser, 90, of Buckley, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in the presence of her loving family. She was born February 8, 1930 in Paradise Township, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Bancroft) Delancey.
She attended Fife Lake schools, graduating in 1948 but was a lifelong Buckley resident. On May 8, 1954 she married Ralph E. Kreiser at St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Church. They were married for almost 56 years until his death in 2011.
Mabel was a very active participant in the family farm, working with her husband. She was very efficient in the kitchen, and spent many hours canning almost everything imaginable. If you were at their house anytime near mealtime, you never walked away hungry. She always prepared a full meal for those present, and of course that included dessert.
She was a very welcoming individual, and a surrogate mother to all the kids in the neighborhood. Mabel enjoyed going to yard sales, and could often be found barefoot in her garden. Also a devoted member at St. Mary of Hannah Church. Most importantly, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mabel is survived by her children, Blane, Leo (Rona), and Valerie Kreiser; 14 grandchildren, Heather, Jason, Nathan, Jeremy, Kari, Kurtis, Nacole, Nick, Alison, Christopher, Sarah, Laura, Caitlin and Courtney. Also surviving are 20 great-grandchildren, and longtime friend Wayne, whom she was always excited to see. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Paula, son Kevin, and sister Etta Maxine Zenner.
Visitation for Mabel will be held on Monday, June 8th from 4-8 pm at St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Church and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Mary of Hannah Cemetery.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Villa, members of Heartland Hospice, and also the staff from Ritters Assisted Living, who provided her with such love and care. We could not have chosen a better fit for mom. God bless you. Also thank you to Rona for stepping up being there for our family.
