In December of 1966, she married the love of her life, Thomas Paton. Helen was a dedicated and loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and aunt. When her children were young she and her husband Tom chaperoned almost every field trip her children went on. She was the Girl Scout Cookie Chairperson for several years. She and her husband Tom took many family vacations traveling across the country in the station wagon with four kids in the back. The family would take off for the weekend on the spur of the moment to visit family or to go camping. She was an amazing cook. Many hours were spent in the kitchen with her daughters and granddaughters teaching them how to make massive amounts of lasagna, which she enjoyed giving as gifts to her grown children, grandchildren and other people she cared about. She also would make baked goods for bake sales at a moment’s notice. Her grandchildren loved being spoiled by her and spending time at her house. She loved Elvis, enjoyed going to Bingo, word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, collecting porcelain dolls, Christmas ornaments, and angels. She also stepped in when needed to help care for others children without a second thought, opening her home and her heart at a moment’s notice.
Helen is survived by her children James (Kendra) Lockard, Don (Cory) Paton, Lisa (Dale) Gulliver, Sharon (Ben) Hanes, stepson Lance Paton, grandchildren Lindsay, Donnie, William, Jackie, Eddie, Jacob, Kylee, Isabell, Michael, Jareb, Nic, Katie, Jamie, Tommie, Olivia, Makayla, Dale, Robert, and Mark, 6 great grandchildren, brothers Dominick Jr, Peter(Lisa),Mike, Philip, sisters Ester(Bill) Wright, Elizabeth(Paul) Beaudrie, Mary Angeline Harrington, Lauri Stasa and Leah Marcuz and several nieces and nephews.
