Mary Anne Belgum, a beloved nurse and devoted family member, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024 at her home in Lakewood, Colorado. Graveside services will be held in the Dix Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024 with Pastor Ward Snyder officiating. Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Kimball following the graveside. The services for Mary have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Mary Anne Belgum was born at the family home in Dix on November 19, 1956, the daughter of Albert and Bernadine (Herold) Belgum. Mary was one of thirteen siblings, leaving behind a legacy of love and care.
Mary graduated from Dix Public High School in 1975 and pursued her passion for healthcare at Laramie College, earning her nursing degree in 1977. Her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse spanned over four decades, with a significant focus on psychiatric care at Spearly Center's Juniper Village in Denver. Her unwavering commitment to her patients and profession touched countless lives with her compassion and expertise.
In the early 1980s, Mary made Denver her home, where she loved to explore Colorado’s wilderness and further expanded her horizons by earning a diploma in Travel and Transportation from Parks College in 1984. Her diverse interests and dedication to lifelong learning were evident throughout her life.
Mary Anne Belgum will be remembered for her quiet kindness, dedication, love of reading, love of Christ, and the profound impact she had on her family, friends, and the many individuals she cared for throughout her nursing career. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Mary is survived by her loving children, son Nathaniel Belgum and daughter Nicole Garza, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Vaughn, Stan Belgum, Gordon Belgum, Donna Shroyer, Lyle Belgum, Brett Belgum, and Dianne Pruett, who will cherish her memory and the bonds they shared.
