Walter M Haley Jr.

Mr. Haley died July 4, 2016 in Copperas Cove. He was born on June 28, 1917 in Malden, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter M and Margaret Haley, 2 brothers and 1 sister, his wife Anna Maria Haley, his son, Fred Haley and his grandson, James Lee Drain.

He is survived by his daughter Gertie Drain and husband Gary of Killeen, daughter in-law, Linda Haley of Mass., sisters, Jeannie Morgan of FL, Sister Laurine of IN, granddaughter Debbie Paige and her husband Frank of Round Rock, Granddaughter, Kerri Galiano of Mass., 4 great-grandchildren S/ SGT. Brandon Paige and wife Danielle of Spokane, WA, Sarah Paige of Round Rock, Nicholas and Anthony Galiano of Winchendon, MA, and great-great-granddaughter, Ellie Paige of Spokane, WA.

Mr. Haley enlisted in the U.S. Army in May 1941 in Malden, Mass and retired on March 31, 1962 at Ft. Hood, TX. He attained the rank of M/SGT. He returned to Mass. where he worked for Western Electric CO.until he retired. He came back to Texas in 2006 to live with his daughter Gertie Drain. During WWII he served in the Pacific and Burma with Merrills Marauders. He also served in the Korean Conflict.
