Funeral services for Veronica Ford, 47, of Killeen will be Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11am at Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow with military honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Veronica was the daughter of Marjorie W. Hicks, her caregiver, of Daytona Beach, FL and the late Grady J. Hicks, of Daytona Beach, FL.
She graduated from Mainland High School, Class of ’82, in Daytona Beach, FL. She later joined the U.S. Army and continued her education by receiving her BS Degree in Finance at the University of Maryland on May 13, 2004.
She retired from the U.S. Army with 21 years in Fort Hood, Texas. She was currently attending Central Texas College where she was achieving her Masters in Finance.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories two sons; Bernard Ford, Jr. of Atlanta, GA. and Demetrius R. Ford of Daytona Beach, FL.; a sister, Twana J. Hicks of Daytona Beach, FL.; a brother, Edward Williams of Killeen, TX.; two grandchildren, Asia Ford of Ft. Knox, KY and Carmelo Brockington of Daytona Beach, FL.; a loving grandmother, Beatrice J. Wyche of Daytona Beach, FL.; two uncles, John Wyche of Daytona Beach, FL. and James S. Hicks of West Palm Beach, FL.; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 6-8pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
