Funeral services for Sgt. Maj. Terence William Smith, 50, of Georgetown will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Comanche Chapel at Fort Hood. He will be cremated and inurnment will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Smith died June 29, 2011, in Houston. He was born Aug. 22, 1960, to Charles and Dolores Smith in Milwaukee, Wis.
Since 2007, he had been a resident of Georgetown. He was a Free Mason, member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Food Service Executive Association.
He was on active duty with the U.S. Army at the time of his death. He had served in Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Kelly Smith of Georgetown; son, Nathan Smith of Bloomington, Ill.; daughter, Amy Smith of Bloomington; his mother, Dolorse Smith of Tonganoxie, Kan.; and a sister, Kandi White and her husband, Ken, of Tonganoxie.
