Sun Chong (Harmony) Pace, 76 of Harker Heights, Texas was called upon by our Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Harmony was born on March, 25 1948 in South Korea to Jae Taek Yu and Bong Rim Lee. Marrying the love of her life, Jefferson Edward Pace II on August 21, 1978 she soon moved to Texas.
Much of her time was spent volunteering with St. Luke's United Methodist Church and being an emissary for the Korean American Association of Killeen. She was an active volunteer within the community and one of the many ways of showing her love for others was to cook. She spent many of hours cooking for the homeless via church programs and gathering gently used items to provide to those less fortunate. Harmony felt that if you were well nourished then you were well loved. She provided both to her friends and family.
Harmony also enjoyed spending time helping out at the VFW 3892. She participated in shuffleboard leagues, played in pool tournaments and most importantly, being there to support her grandchildren. She was one of their biggest fans, attending many of their events, supporting initiatives, and cheering them on from home.
Harmony was a courageous soul that was steadfast in her belief in the Lord. During her two year battle with pancreatic cancer, she was determined to live her best life and remained focused on the balance between quality and quantity. When the time came to focus on her remaining quality of life she was unapprehensive about the decision to be made. She dedicated the time left to her family.
Harmony is preceded in death by her father, Jae Taek Yu; mother, Bong Rim Lee and brother, Won Jong Yu; and loving husband, Jefferson Edward Pace II.
Harmony is survived by her sister, Soon Woo Yu; two son’s Roger and wife DaHyun, and Jeffery and wife Krista; three grandchildren Alexander, Kaden, and Aubrey.
The Lord shall forever offer you peace and protection, until we see you again.
If roses grow in Heaven, Lord,
Please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from me.
Tell her that I love and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek,
And hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday,
But there’s an ache within my heart
That will never go away.
