Services for Norma Mae Wermuth, 86, of Killeen will be 11am Monday January 18, at Central Christian Church in Killeen with entombment to follow at Killeen Memorial Park in Killeen. She was born April 1, 1929 in Front Royal, VA and passed away January 12, 2016 in Killeen. She was preceded in death by husband, Ted Wermuth, and her parents David Elmer Johns and Lennis Martin. Survivors include sons, David Wermuth and wife Donna, Paul Wermuth, daughters Brenda Lindsey, and Joanni Vanderham and husband Pete, sister Janice Shapland, grandchildren, Thomas, Christopher, Kimberly, Frederick, Timothy, Paulena, and Ricky and eleven great-grandchildren. Norma married Ted Wermuth June 12, 1953 in Killeen. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Killeen, VFW Post 3892 in Harker Heights from 1979 to the present, and American Legion Post 573 in Harker Heights for 19 years. She worked at the Harker Heights Fire Department, and the Texas Department of Justice in Sugar Land. Norma loved people and never met a stranger. She was not judgmental. She loved family, traveling, flowers, riding motorcycles, and playing shuffle board at the American Legion as a member of the Junk Yard Dogs team. She was always happy. A reception celebrating her life will be held at the American Legion Post 573 in Harker Heights following the services. The family will receive visitor from 6-8pm Sunday January 17, 2016 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
