Mrs. Leifester died Oct. 1, 2013, at a hospital in Temple. She was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Flat to the late Samuel Omer and Annie Lee Farris. She was married to James Henry Leifester on Oct. 6, 1951.
She worked 35 years at Fort Hood before her retirement. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Harker Heights.
Mrs. Leifester was preceded in death by one son, Henry Ferrell; both parents; and two brothers, Wesley and Don Farris.
Survivors include her husband, James Henry; one daughter, Alice Smith of Frisco; two sons, Cecil and Roy Dale Leifester of Killeen; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Moore of Gatesville.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
