November 27, 1944 – March 1, 2024
Loise Marie Farley Grandy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, and brother on March 1, 2024.
Loise was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 27, 1944, to Luther and Alice (nee McGrew) Farley. She attended school in Lawton, Oklahoma. Loise met Glen Grandy, Jr. at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and married on June 2, 1962. Glen’s duty station changed in 1963 to Ft. Hood and they moved to Killeen, Texas.
Loise greatly valued education and served in her four daughters’ schools as a homeroom mother, member of the PTA, and leading the Peebles Elementary PTA as president. She loved being a part of the Brownies and Girls Scouts, and fondly recalled meeting many of her former girls over the years while out in the community.
Loise and Glen were partners in the Rancier Services and truck rental business, and Loise had her own truck rental business until her retirement in 1993. She was very involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives and her home was filled with laughter, the pitter-patter of her beloved grandchildren, and anyone who was hungry. Her pantry was always filled with Cheetos and popcorn!
Loise loved going on cruises (especially the family cruises in 2005 with 19 family members and in 2017 with 38 family members), visiting the casinos, shopping, crafting, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was the important focus in her life, and she was very proud of the accomplishments of her many loved ones.
Loise is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Glen Jr. They were blessed with four daughters and their families:
Lisa and Jim Davis – Andrea and Logan Chaney and their children, Jaxson, Brooks, and Davis Cate; Meagan and Chris Hearell and their children, Henley, Hayes, Graham, and Cooper
Lori and David McGinnis – Matthew and Amanda McGinnis and their children, Lyric and Abel; Jacob and Katie McGinnis and their children, Lydia and Micah; Rebekah and Connor Walters and children, Cohen, Silas, and Luca; Sarah and Brian Worley; Emily McGinnis; Lilly McGinnis; Caleb McGinnis
Terri and John Mainey – Chrissy and Tim Sharpe and their children, Brayden, Charlotte, and Bennett; Jimmie LeeAnn and Seth Locklear and their children, Kinsley, Theodore, Ulysses, and Calvin (on the way); Andrew Yeager
Bobbie Jo and Michael Cox – Laura Jean Messier; Jessica and Jon Chavez and their daughter, Eiva; Samantha and Patrick Cammett and their children, Kenzie and Amelia.
She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in laws, Dorothy and Raymond Martin; Esther and George Ketcham; brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Ann Farley; and brother, Luther Farley, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews, and her faithful friend, Imogene Dunn. She joins grandchildren Meran Messier and Chuck Mainey, and great-grandson, Luke Chaney, in heaven.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 6 pm- 8 pm at Crawford Bowers in Killeen. A private family service will follow.
