Larry served 22 years in the United States Army and fought in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received the following Medals and Awards: The National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Bronze Star Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 2d Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal Clasp and Silver 1 loop. Larry had an associates degree in Business Management from Central Texas College. Larry also retired after 30 years from the US Civil Service,TRADOC combined Army Test Activity (TCATA) as a Data Management Specialist, and then Test and Experimentation Command (TEXCOM) as a Test Officer, Military Test Plans Analyst.
Larry enjoyed the outdoor life, fishing, hunting and spending his summers in Port Aransas,Texas with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patricia J. Fye, his parents Paul & Mary, and brother Ronald Fye.
Larry leaves loving memories to son, Larry K. Fye, Jr. daughter(s), Lisa M. Harris, Tracy Zynda, and Dawn Fye-Dutton. He leaves behind grandchildren, Tim Daugherty, Courtney Wilson, William Carter, Christopher Harris, Tyler Fye, Kayla Harris, Lynsey Fye and Tanner Dutton. Along with many family and friends.
Services will be at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen, visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 6-8 pm, funeral service will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 10:30 am with burial to follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.
