Keith J. Nally,63, was born September 25, 1947 in St. Paul MN., and passed away on August 25, 2010 at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Hospital. He graduated from St. Paul Lutheran High School and St. Paul College- in culinary Arts. He served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1967. He served on the inaugural voyage of the USS Edward McDonald destroyer escort. He was an executive chef for over 35 years, working for various corporations throughout the United States. He was a member of the VFW 9192 Robert Gray Post, in Killeen, Texas where he served as Chaplin and Surgeon. He loved cooking for events for the VFW and was well known for his St. Patrick’s Day corn beef dinners. For many years he enjoyed competing in barbeque cook offs in which he won many awards. He loved returning to Northern MN where he enjoyed fishing frequently.
Mr. Nally is survived by daughters; Charlotte Lawson and husband Nelson of Columbus Ohio, and Shannon Bayer and husband David of Hilliard, Ohio, sister; Gail Henry and family of St Paul MN, stepdaughters; Melissa Masse and husband Luis of San Antonio, and Christina Soto and husband Donald of Killeen, TX and 9 grandchildren who called him Grampa Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wendell and Ida Mae Nally and wife Lisa.
The family will receive visitors from 11:30-12:30 Monday August 30, at the funeral home Chapel.
