He spent most of his youth attending various schools in Ft. Dix, New Jersey, Fort Carson, Colorado, Fort Riley, Kansas and El Paso, Texas supporting his Father’s Military Career.
Joshua joined the military at age 21. He served at duty stations as a member of A Battery, 2nd Division, 20th Field Artillery Battalion, Ft. Carson Colorado and Grafenwöhr, Germany where he demonstrated leadership and perseverance while achieving several military honors. He rose to the rank of Sergeant while serving honorably. He served this great Nation for 4 years receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, an M16 Sharp Shooter Badge and the list continues. After returning to Killeen, Texas, Joshua continued to serve as a member of the Texas National Guard. He retired from the Civilian Service with over 30 years of service.
His memories will be cherished by his family, friends and the Killeen community of which he was a big part for many years. He had a love for music (saxophone player like his father), fishing, repairing cars and radio-controlled airplanes. He was generous to a fault and willing to help all of his family and friends. Often giving to others while sacrificing personal needs for those he loved and respected.
