Jimmy Lee Williams peacefully passed away on December 11, 2016 at Seton Hospital in Harker Heights, TX. Jimmy was born March 19, 1937 in Temple, TX to James Ira Williams and Ora Lee Young, was raised in the Maxdale/Oakalla area and graduated high school in Briggs, TX.
Jimmy worked at the Killeen Daily Herald for 28 years. After retiring from the Herald, Jimmy and Tom Rich owned and operated Cen-Tex Auto Color from 1985 to 1995. He also loved working at KPLE-TV, a Christian TV Station. He recorded and produced commercials for many years and then worked in the studio as a cameraman. He was very passionate about still and video photography.
Jimmy met the love of his life at Bethel Church in Killeen. Jimmy and Dianna Cunningham were married in 1968 at Faith Temple Church in Killeen. They were very active in the music department in which Jimmy played lead guitar and Dianna sang with the Faith Temple Choir and Charles King Singers. Jimmy was an uncompromising worker, especially when it came to music and photography. He established the audio/video ministry at Faith Temple Church, and he and Dianna retired from this ministry after 40 years of service.
In 2008 Jimmy and Dianna became members of the Maxdale Cowboy Church located 14 miles south of Killeen and once again were involved in the music ministry, Jimmy playing the bass guitar and Dianna playing the piano and singing. Jimmy returned to the roots from his childhood since the Maxdale Cowboy Church holds services in the Maxdale Baptist Church where Jimmy’s parents took him as a baby.
