James Raymond Smith Sr.

Raymond was born on March 24, 1930 in Camak, Georgia. He graduated from Warrington High School, and in 1973 from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth Texas.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Louise Bowen (Dr. Gregory Bowen) of San Antonio; son, James Raymond Smith Jr. (Bonnye Smith) of Houston; granddaughters, Ashley Brooke Smith Rodriguez (Roger Rodriguez) and Holley Alexandra Bowen; grandson, James Raymond Smith III; and great grandchildren, Jadyn Grace Rodriguez and Jae Alexander Rodriguez; sister-in-law, Peggie Holley Johnson (Robert Johnson); brother-in-law, Warren Keys Thompson, Jr.; and nieces, Cindi Hudson and Terrie Bodine.

He is predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Patricia “Pat” Louise Smith.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, 3310 W. S. Young, Killeen, Texas, 76542, Friday, March 22 at 2 pm, followed by a memorial service at First Baptist Church, 1515 N. Live Oak, Rockport, Texas, 78382, Sunday, March 24 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Raymond requested donations to the Food Care Center, 210 N. 16th Street, Killeen, Texas, 76541 or Operation Santa Claus, Wells Fargo Bank, 502 N. Austin Street, Rockport, Texas, 78382.
