Jackie Louis Harris age 67, passed peacefully in Temple, Texas surrounded by his wife, children, and grandkids. Jackie was born on September 28, 1954 in Sharon, Georgia to Willie Hughes and Carrie Harris. He graduated from Taliaferro County High School in 1974 in Crawfordville (Sharon), Georgia. Shortly after, Jackie enlisted in the United States Army in 1976. After honorably discharging from the Army in 1984 he settled in Killeen, Texas. Jackie married his lovely wife Jacqueline in 1993. He worked for a myriad of companies in Killeen from Yellow Cab Co, a local moving company, and lastly Walmart where he retired after 15 years of service. Jackie enjoyed his social life, one of his all time favorite hobbies was bowling. Jackie was a competitive bowler for several teams; he maintained an average of 227, and bowled thirteen 300 scored games. Jackie was a spiritual man, he was a member of Westside Baptist Church where he became a minister in 2020. Jackie was a jokester, a loyal friend, and an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.
Jackie is preceded in death by his dad Willie Hughes; his mother Carrie Harris; and his brother Charles Harris.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Hamilton; his siblings, Vance Hackney; Frances Holloman; and Earnestine Woods; his children, Jackie Harris Jr; LaKisha (Steve) Harris; Lewanna (Oronde) Baird; Larissa (Charlie) Graves; Jenell (Mario) Brown; and Dorrail (Brenda) Graves; his grandkids, Antonio; Kareema; Curtis; Savannah; Kenneth; Kalycia; Cedric; Raizel; J'Quan; Jaye; Jaxson; Ishmael; King; Zoel; and Dorrail. He will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas. There will be a visitation held two hours prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas. Committal Service with Military Honors will follow the service at the Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, TX.
