Jack "Jc" Shapland

Jack “JC” Shapland, 88, passed away April 16, 2012 at his home in Killeen, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:30am Friday, April 20, 2012 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

“JC” was born on December 12, 1923 in Newkirk, OK to Roland and Edna (Kirkendall) Shapland.

He served in the US Navy during WWII, and has been a Killeen businessman since 1948. He also served as Commander of VFW Post 9192 from 1954-1956 and 1964-1965.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jay Shapland; brothers Wayne, Paul, David, Russell, and Chris Shapland and one sister, Neil Rose Klemcke.

Survivors include his wife Janice; granddaughters Catherine and Madeline Shapland of Houston; sisters Eula Mae McLaughlin and Joyce Underwood of California; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 6-8pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
