A Mass of Christian Burial for SGM Hoyt Carlton Nelson Jr. (Ret) will be 11am Tuesday August 11, 2020 at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Harker Heights, Texas, with burial to follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. He was born August 24, 1932 in Alexander City, Alabama and passed away July 31, 2020 in Harker Heights, Texas. SGM Nelson (Ret) was in the Army for twenty-nine years, serving in Korea, Germany, Turkey and three times in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Chong, a daughter, a step-son, ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren He was preceded in death by two daughters and one step-son. He was a member of St Paul’s Catholic Church in Harker Heights for thirty-two years and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband and father. The family will have a rosary from 6-7pm followed by a brief viewing Monday August 10, 2020 at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Harker Heights
