He spent his childhood in Fort Wayne, Indiana He graduated from New Haven High School in 1951. In 1961, he graduated from The University of Dayton (BA). Aug 26, 1961 he married his high school sweetheart Jani Ellen Heath in Dayton, Oh. He was inseparable from his wife and best friend Jani. They spend a beautiful 66 years together and 63 years of that they spent married. Together they had 2 children, a daughter Christina and a son SGT. Christopher Case (Brandy).
He graduated from the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio (Bachelor of Science, Business Administration) 1961He graduated Distinguished Military Graduate and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He was selected by the Army to be 1 of 6 soldiers in the medical corps to receive his Master’s Degree 1969. He graduated (Commandant’s List) from Baylor University in Waco, Texas (Master’s Degree, Health Care Administration). He is additionally a graduate of the U. S. Army’s Command and General Staff College (Commandant’s List).
Mr. Case completed almost 30 years in the U. S. Army, rising to the rank of Colonel. He held the positions of TRICARE Administrator/Field Coordination Manager, Health Net Federal Services, from May 1955 through September 2004. He was the contract Administrator responsible for the implementation of the Department of Defense’s healthcare system-TRICARE- for Fort Hood, Austin, Del Rio and San Angelo. Texas. TRICARE is a managed care venture for the entire Department of Defense. His last duty assignment was Chief of Staff/Chief Operating Officer, Darnall Army Community Hospital, Fort Hood, Texas.
He numerous assignments included Germany; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Fort Sam Houston, Texas; El Paso, Texas; Hawaii; West Point, New York; Fort Hood, Texas; and the Republic of Vietnam. He was a member of the Association of the United States Army, and the Association of Military Surgeons if the United States. He was an alumnus of the Interagency Institute for Federal Health Care Executives, and Haus Rissen (Atlantik-Brucke e V.) Hamburg, Germany and a lifetime member, of the Baylor University Alumni Association.
He and his wife were very active in the community He was of a Past President of Fort Hood Golf Association; Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce-past Chairman of Board of Directors and past Chairman of the Ambassadors; on the Military Affairs Committee; Past President . Fort Hood Area United Way; Vice President, Association of the United States Army, Central Texas-Fort Hood Chapter (He was awarded the Robert Shoemaker Award in 1999 as “The Retired military member who contributed most to the advancement of the Chapter” and then the BG James I. King Award in 2023 “in recognition of exceptional and outstanding service to the Chapter given over many years without which this Chapter would not have achieved it Goals”). Past President, U. S. Army –Baylor University Alumni Association; Past president, Central Texas Chapter-Baylor Alumni Association Leadership Killeen-1993 and past member Killeen Heights Rotary Club-Paul Harris Fellow.

He was quick with a smile and had an outgoing personality. His love for Texas and America was unbreakable. He was an avid fan of the Baylor Bears and Dallas Cowboys. He lived a full life. For years they spent every Jan, Feb, and March in the Texas Valley, and made lasting and countless friends from all over the US and Canada. They enjoyed golfing and cross-country skiing.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Marion Case
Survivors include wife Jani, 2 children, Christina and SGT. Christopher Case (Brandy), grandchildren History Abagel Case, Stonewall Cannon Case, and Shelby Tucker. Sister- in- law and Brother- in- law Jerri and Jerry Amos.

Services will be 11am June 25, 2024 at Crawford-Bowers chapel in Killeen. A Reception will follow at the Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at 1:00PM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Full Military Honors.
