SFC (Ret.) Gerald Ray Valentine

Gerald Ray Valentine, age 67, passed away Tuesday, March 27 at Olin E. Teague Hospital in Temple. A visitation for Mr. Valentine is set for Monday, April 2, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen. Services are scheduled for 12:00 pm, Tuesday, April 3, at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights with burial to follow at 2:00 pm at Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery.

Gerald was born September 5, 1944 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to James Lee Valentine and Beatrice Valentine - Caruso. He joined the military and served over 20 years as an engineer for the U. S. Army, and after retirement as an engineer for the civil service. He met and married his wife, Karin, in Ulm, Germany in 1970.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Lee Valentine, and a grandson, Christian Ray Valentine, Jr..

Survivors include his wife, Karin Gudrun Wanda Valentine; two sons, Bobby Lee Valentine and Christian Ray Valentine; a daughter Diana Jasmine Chapman; a brother, Frank Caruso, and 3 grandchildren.
