I miss talking to you. Loved you a lot and you were a big part of my life in Germany and also when we moved back to the states.

First Frank left us ......then his and our old home was flattened. Yes, this is the old Heidelberg Rod and Gun Club. 
I am sure Frank would be happy to hear it will be re-naturized as a habitat for endangered species.

My Dear Uncle Frank,  
Saying goodbye to you today was hard.  Some comfort was found in thinking about some of our goofy times and really taking in just how accomplished you were.  Not many can genuinely say they lived life to the fullest, but seeing how well you did just that, is truly an inspiration. I am grateful your resting place is nearby and even more grateful to have been your niece. Rest Easy Uncle, I love you.  ❤ 

I met Frank in 2003 at the Heidelberg Rod and Gun Club. He became a grandfather to me, and all my free time not at work was spent there with him and Ian. 
 I have many fond memories of the with Frank, from going through the hunters course, to working on the ranges to our morning and afternoon chats over coffee. You will forever be loved and missed, I will cherish our times and memories.
 I am glad you are no longer in any discomfort and will forever miss you. 
I love you Frank.

Met Frank at his son's house in Oxford Alabama,,,,,,he could keep your interest while telling some of his most interesting stories he accomplished in his long life in the military and private life,,,,,loved him and still love his son Vince.

I have such treasured memories of Frank from my days at the Heidelberg Rod and Gun Club. Over the years, I adopted him as my grandfather, and that was the role he had in my life. I will deeply miss hearing him call me his "Razorback baby." My deepest condolences. 

I first met you in 2003. You were like a father to me as I lost my own father in my 20's. I love you with all my heart and I miss those weekly calls and hearing your voice. You are no longer in pain and I thank your son for moving there and making sure you were o.k. Bob and I have many wonderful memories of you and the Rod and Gun Club. You were a legend to every person you came in contact with.  We miss you and look forward to seeing you again.


"The Godfather" has found his peace.  During our last calls he would talk about all the help he got from you, Vincent. Sad he will not have his final wish: a big 90th birthday bash next January. Erika and I spend many hours teaching hunting classes, organizing graduation banquets, St. Hubertus masses, Christmas- and Easter events for kids in need and working at the Special Olympics. A man driven by passion and rooted in his deep beliefs. No doubt the old Sergeant will keep the heavenly troops straight. Waidmannsheil old friend!

I'm so sorry for your loss and I'm sending you my deepest condolences. I met Frank at the Rod and Gun Club as well, as I was working there with Sara. We had always such a good time together and made jokes and just enjoyed every visit of him. He was a very special guy with a big heart and I won't ever forget him. He was one of a kind! 

Mary Lou and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Frank.   He was a wonderful gentleman and great friend during my time in Heidelberg.   He was a mentor to generations of young hunters.   General Bell expressed so eloquently the many accomplishments of Frank when he was indeed the "master" of the Rod and Gun Club.   He will be sorely missed by many.   Rest in peace soldier.   Waidmanns  Heil mein guter freund.

Vincent, please know that Katie and I loved Frank.  We got to know him really well when I was last stationed in Heidelberg, Germany and Frank was the "Master" of the Rod and Gun Club.  From that venue, he did more for German-American relations than any single man I have ever met.  And, Frank worked tirelessly for the good of American Servicemembers, our German partners, and indeed our NATO Alliance.   Of very special note, Frank organized and conducted the annual Christmas Season Celebration of the Feast of St. Hubertus in the Patrick Henry Village Chapel.  The Celebration was renowned across Europe.  It was very special and spiritually rewarding.  Most importantly Frank was an honored American Soldier achieving the rank of Master Sergeant and fighting for his country in the Koran War.  As long as I live I will always be humbled by Frank's trip to Korea when I assumed command of the South Korean / American Combined Forces Command.  His presence in Seoul was so very, very special.  Katie and I will miss this great warrior, patriot, international diplomat, and wonderful man.  May his soul rest in peace with our LORD in Heaven.  God Speed Master Sergeant (Retired) Frank Soares.  

Vincent.  I am sorry you have lost your dad.  He is resting now - in no pain nor weakness.   Vincent, you have done your duty as a responsible son to your dad.   I know you would do nothing different.  I am praying for strength for you and your family over the next couple of weeks.   Stay strong.   You know you have friends and supporters in Alabama, always.
