Frances was born April 8, 1932 in Phillips, Texas to the late Glenn and Louise Barney Marken. After high school graduation, she attended Texas Tech University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. She married the love of her life, Donald Wilson, in June of 1954, and had a wonderful 31 years together before he passed away in 1985. Frances was primarily a homemaker but also taught Pre K in the Killeen schools for about 10 years.
Frances was a longtime faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Killeen. She had many, many interests and hobbies during her 87 years, including dancing, playing Bridge and card games, dominos, puzzles and bowling in leagues occasionally. She also enjoyed spending her time walking, reading and traveling, especially on cruises. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Don Wilson of Houston; her daughter, Ellen Baker of Cedar Park; 4 grandchildren, Austin, Dustin, Gene and Roxanne; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A time of visitation and fellowship will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen which is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church in Killeen or the Killeen Lions Club.
