Evelyn M. (Beck) Ray

Graveside services for Evelyn M. (Beck) Ray, 90, of Killeen will be 11:00 am Saturday June 4, 2016 at Live Oak Cemetery in Youngsport.

Mrs. Ray of Killeen was born January 26, 1926 in the Brookhaven community of Bell County and passed away May 30, 2016 in Temple

She attended Killeen schools and graduated from Killeen High School in 1943. She married Edmond (Bubba) Ray that same year.

Mrs. Ray retired from Killeen ISD after 31 years, where she last worked as the secretary to the superintendent. She was a member of the Killeen Retired Teachers Association and the Maxdale Ladies Club and participated in several local painting and craft organizations. She was an accomplished painter of bluebonnets and country scenes.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Bernice Beck. She is survived by her four sons: Kenneth, J.W. (Hap), Garry and Randall Ray; brother, T.E. Beck; four grandchildren: and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the KISD Education Foundation for Student Scholarships.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday June 3, 2016 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
