Ember was honored by name this Memorial Day morning after 27 guys of F3 Puget Sound gathered to attempt "The Murph," a tribute to Lt. Michael Murphy. At the conclusion of our workout, we each drew a name, and hers was the name I drew. We each took a knee and said the name of the servicemember we drew aloud. After every name, everyone gathered said, "respect." As the father of three girls, it was especially meaningful to draw her name. Thank you Ember for your valiant service to our country. And to her parents, we are forever in your debt. I can't begin to comprehend the grief you bear. Hopefully knowing your daughter was remembered and honored today brings you a moment of solace. We continue to be blessed by your sacrifice.

To Ember's family; I cannot begin to understand what you are going through. Ember was a part of my daughter's life for about 5 years and they were pretty good friends. From my own interactions with Ember she was a daughter you could be proud of, she represented you well. I am still having a difficult time accepting her loss. I will miss her and her sense of humor. I loved her like she was family. May God bring you love and peace.

I do not know Spc Alt but I was there in Dover Air Force Base when she came in as I am a Spc in the military. My condolences  and prayers go out to her family. She is, was, and always will be my sister in arms.

FALLEN HEROES - From the time I was conceived God had for me a plan. He wanted me to get involved to help my fellow man. I know some were against it but God knows what is best. Now I am at home with him and have perfect peace and rest. Heaven is so beautiful I'm walking streets of gold. Now I'm serving others including saints of old. I know some still have anger about the way I died, but God sees and bottles every tear you cry.  As difficult as it may be please don't hold a grudge. Remember this my loved ones God alone will judge. Then on that resurrection day when all the dead will rise, the Lord will reunite us together in the skies. Please don't be sad and mourn for me I'm doing what I love, serving God and guarding you from heaven up above.

I have known Cynthia since elementary school.  When I first heard that Ember had passed away, it hit me hard. I would like to send my condolences to all of Ember's family and friends. I met Ember through Sharon Miranda and Sheniqua Henry when she stayed with them at Fort Gordon, GA. I remember the day I met her and I remember most of all her smile and laugh. My heart goes out to you all. My father passed away May 24th so I know somewhat of the sadness you are feeling. First I want to send my condolences to the family. I first met Alt May 2011 during reception in Fort Jackson SC. She was always smiling and dancing around the bay Lol we ended up being in the same company foxtrot 3-13 she was in 1st platoon and I was in 3rd but we all still shared the same bay and throughout basic she still would dance, play and laugh around the bay. We would all joke with her and call her a little baby because she had a baby face and look to young to join the Army lol but at the end of the day she was a strong individual and leader. She was never afraid of a challenge and would take anything head on. I am going to miss you battle and I know your soul is resting with our father in heaven RIP battle
