Elizabeth was born November 5th, 1958 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, as the youngest of four siblings. With her family, she moved to the island of Oahu, Hawaii at the age of 9. After marrying her high school sweetheart, they began their family and travel the world as his dependents in the army. Elizabeth was a woman of faith that instilled that the Lord always comes first in her family. She raised two enthusiastic boys with that same understanding (otherwise a pinch to belly was expected). She engrained the importance of church, school, and politeness. For this, she was extremely proud of the men to which they became. With Fort Hood being their last duty station, they laid their roots and made Texas their forever home.
Elizabeth was a faithful Christian who, joined by her siblings, carried on their family’s tradition of building and supporting the ministries in the Philippines. She loved people and sharing the word of God. Elizabeth was also well known and respected in the local Banking industry until her retirement.
Her most cherished time was being Lola (Filipino for grandma), with the special duties of watching and supporting her grandkids in their sports and hobbies, such as Softball, Motocross, and Band.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her mother Carlina Bolosan Ramiro Cabinian and father Paulo Cabinian.
She is also preceded in death by her first husband Shane M. Shimabukuro Sr. of 29 years upon his death, and her 2nd husband Joe Jerry Franklin Jr. of 7 years upon his death.
Elizabeth is survived by her two sons Shane M. Shimabukuro Jr. (wife Salina Shimabukuro) and Vern Shimabukuro (wife Crystal Shimabukuro), stepson Josh Franklin, and her beloved grandchildren Victoria, Shane III, Benjamin, and Evan, all of Texas. She is also survived by her sisters Ofelia Doctolero and Carmelita Bolosan, brothers Rogelio Sagadraca and Levi Cabinian, of Hawaii.
Elizabeth’s two sons and four grandchildren will lovingly escort her on her final walk as pallbearers.
